He married Sylvia Martha Bennett (b. 1900, MN and d. 1964) abt 1920, MN. Sylvia is the sister of Ethel Bennett who married Robert's brother Fred Van Vickle. Comment from Dorothy Williams - Sylvia died and Robert visited her grave every day. He made the comment that it wouldn't be long until he would be there too, and one week later he died. I guess you could say he died of a broken heart
